Just a question...Does anyone know what my pre-master mix should be peaking at? Some say -6 to -3 dBFS is this correct?

I think this should not be important as long as your mix does not clip. Mastering engineer can do work at any record level. However, if in doubt - it's better to have a lower level than clipping. Of course, mix should be at 24 or 32-bit resolution.
