Hi,
it would be great if Lampthruster would allow for a really overdriven sound. as it is now it is great for adding sparkle to a track but if one really wants an overdriven sound Lmapthruster is not suitable. However, I gues it should be easy to add this "feature". I know, it was not your intention, but I really bet many, many users would appreciate that.

... kind of like the pro version of TubeAmp

drjee, I'm not sure this feature will be suitable for Lampthruster. In fact, heavier distortion usually sounds wrong on broadband mixes. You may try using Analogflux TapeBus plug-in: it is able to deliver a heavier overdriven sound with enough control.

well, I tried Tapebus, but still it is not what I am looking for. What I want sound-wise is more like TubeAmp, but I would like to have a better/smoother and more "harminic" distortion than in TubeAmp. Do you have any plans to update/improve it, or to release a pro version?

btw: analog flux is is not so tempting for me: I have PSL and I will most probably get VM. so the only thing of real interest left is TB and I think I prefer tube like overdrive to tape compression/distortion.

maybe just an idea if more overdrive does not fit into lampthruster
make a new Drive plug which is a combination of
Tapebus and (an enhanced and more elaborated version of) TubeAmp. Maybe call it TTDrive: Tape and Tube.
I am sure this is what many are missing. I would buy it if it is within the normal voxengo price range.

Thanks for the idea... I'll think about it.

I hope the result of your mediation will be what I hope ;-)
