Was convolution used to create the sounds in the 9 preamp models?
How about the vintage eq?

It would be really helpful to have a brief outline description of the preamps and eq's and their best uses.
I know that you do not like sharing information about specific gear being studied, approximated, etc., but specific preamps and eq's are useful for specific sonic characteristics, and knowing a basic outline is REALLY helpful for jumping to the right sound and settings.
Thanks a ton in advance for comments.

All preamp models are 'artistic creations' - they are not based on any existing devices.  Differences between preamp models are mostly cosmetic - they add harmonics in varying amounts and patterns.

EQ's are standard second order parametrics.  What makes them unique is their interaction with the preamp stage.  They sound a bit 'clearer' than standard parametrics.

So, all I can suggest you is to experiment as Lampthruster is the 'beast' on its own.

I could see where having a brief description of the models would be nice - kind of like the short descriptions about the Crunchessor modes.  Just a little guideline.

Something I was wondering about is if the _way_ Lampthruster generates harmonics (Thrust setting or otherwise) could be expanded.  Not a change to the signal patch or concept, just an extension to what it already does.  Like - I think the way Warmifier does this is rather different (I mean - apart from the sound, the method/principal is different, right?)

I'm kind of funny about this plugin - I like all the Voxengo plugs, but I'm always curious about this one.

wsc, it's just impossible in the case of Lampthruster, to describe all those pre-amp 'models'.  They are based on the same general approach, though, so their sound does not differ greatly from model to model.

Indeed, Warmifier's way of adding harmonics is very different.
