Just what is this plug-in? From the description I guess that it adds some colouration to the signal, but I am not sure what 'modulation noise' is?
Do I use it on every track? Do I need it if I have something like warmifier or lampthruster running?

The Insert plug-in
The 'Insert' plugin adds high-frequency modulation noise usually introduced by tape machine's mechanics. It is not very evident, but it may smooth too sharp transients - especially high-frequency transients.
