One of my most used Voxengo plug-ins (besides Cakewalk's Perfect Space).

Voxformer really took a shine when you went from version 1 to version 2.

It works perfectly for controlling vocal tracks and getting them to sound upfront yet smooth without putting 5 plug-ins in my effects bin.

The oversampling also makes a big difference in increasing the quality of the plug-in (as well as for all of the Voxengo plug-ins that have this feature).  I go to 2x usually.

hallo,

just wanted to tell you, that i am absolutely happy with harmoniEQ 2.0!

i used version 1.0 quite a lot in the past, but it went in the background a little over time.

now with version 2.0 it is back again :-). what a great tool, i used it in a lot of occasions, from whole mixes to single tracks. i got perfect results for my needs, in very short time, from adding presence and grip/transient-emphasizing (i used it for this a lot) to making sounds mellow and smooth.

in a recent project, i had to bring a lot of very different acoustic-recordings in balance with each other. it ranged from heavy percussion to choir-singing/flute/cello. i got it done with heavy use of harmoniEQ in very short time. no fiddling with eqs and compressors/expanders, just tuning in the right frequencies, a little finetuning with the settings and done.

this a great addition to my toolset. i am amazed that there is not much more rumor about it :-).

best greetings,

I work a lot with older tape recordings and convert them to digital files.  After trying every noise reduction software and plugin I could find (except for the most expensive $1,000+ products), I just purchased Redunoise today.  After taking a little time to set it up and understand the parameters, I really like the results and performance.  With the correct settings, the end soundfile is much cleaner with very little or no audible artifacts.  Thank you for a great product, and I look forward to trying more or your plugins!

I am using the GlissEQ and the VariSaturator on an upcoming jazz-elctronic dance release and it allowed me to selectively bring up very low level tom fill levels in a single track that had both hi hat and toms in it recorded in real time in the studio, so this application alone is amazing.

Thank you for your devotion to absolute quality and analog depth.

I just got a new reference disc of a project from my mastering engineer that was SRC'd via r8brain (PRO) instead of the other software.  The difference in detail and musicality is really, really amazing.  Great work.

Thanks!

Voxengo is one of these rare plugin developers who offers high quality professional audio software at a really fair price.  I tried their limiter, Elephant 2 some years ago and I just bought Elephant 3, released in September 2008.

Voxengo Elephant is a mastering limiter plug-in for professional music production applications.  I tried some other limiters but Elephant, despite is name, is really transparent and discrete and can add some loudness without the usual side-effects, used sparingly like with every limiter of course!

For The Field Where She Died, I’m using another Voxengo plugin which is a mastering comp called the Polysquasher (I love this name!!).  It’s a “glue comp” which is really transparent and brings more cohesion to the mix.  I find that Elephant and Polysquasher work really great together and are a great and low cost way to finalize your songs, preserving their natural feel and dynamics.

There’s also a free EQ which is quite interesting: The Overtone EQ.

I’m really curious to try other plugins from Voxengo like the GlissEQ, a mastering EQ which seems to be really appreciated here and there!

Thanks so much for the HarmoniEQ update.  It sounds amazing.  I'm finally getting the sounds on my songs that I've been trying to get for years.  I use it in my mastering chain.  It gives me a airy presence that's not harsh.  The compressed settings are just great.  They give me a smoothness that I've been looking for for my solo classical guitar pieces that have been difficult in the past.

The mastering chain I've been using recently, all Voxengo, is Tapebus, CurveEQ, Polysquasher (also a great update-wow!), HarmoniEQ, Elephant.  I've been having a lot of success with that combo but I'm wondering if you have any suggestions or feedback about it.  Thanks for your great work.

Woaaa - I just updated Elephant to the latest version as well as I purchased the new Harmony EQ...  I am completely blown away by the Harmony EQ - there was always that cryptic "boost" knob in the old version - which usually sounded great, but was not really controllable - so I usually ended up not using it.  Now with the new Dynamic Section as well as the realtime analyzer..  Wow!

In addition I just stepped over the graph feature in Elephant.  Great great great!!  Ok - watching a waveform has nothing to do with mastering..  But I do love to watch that.  I am most sure we all do that..  Before I had to open an exported masterfile in Wavelab, haha - now I can see what is going on :)) Now that is really a cool feature!!

I've just discovered the Peaking HRM option in GlissEQ.  Wow.  I was working with some difficult acoustic guitar tracks.  These had some harsh frequencies due to room modes and recording in an untreated space.  I've since treated my room and have learned better how to track.  So now I hear all these problems on my older tracks.  Ever time I've tried to fix these tracks by EQing the harsh upper-mid-range, it just takes the life out of the guitar.  Rather than re-record these old tracks (what I should probably do someday), I used the Peaking HRM feature of GlissEQ.  Really amazing, I was able to dramatically improve the tracks, take out the harsh frequencies but leave the body of the track in place.  I'm knocked out how deep I could cut without dulling the sound.  As I improve my tracking and mixing, I'll be using this in much more subtle ways.  I've also found Peaking HRM to be great when used very gently to soften the mid-range harshness and low end mud that inevitably builds up at the mix level.
