I cannot believe that Warmifier gives BBE Sonic Maximizer a run for the money. I was fixated on BBE, but after using Warmifier, there is so much more control that the BBE SM doesn't have: current, voltage tube emulation as well as tube makes/types, LE and HE filter adjustments as well as LE And HE EQ'ing. Just disgusting! (Don't fret: that's a good disgusting LOL)
Sometimes I have to admit it: I get confused to using Lampthruster and Warmifer, but Warmifer is the unexpected lovechild of Voxengo TubeAmp & Voxengo Sonic Finalizer in my eyes! I assume that Warmifer is better for the mastering phase when used with Marq. Compressor, Soniformer and Elephant.....as Lampthruster is good for colorizing tracks in congregation with Voxengo Crunchessor, Voxengo GlissEQ, and Elephant, correct?
Well, enough of my raving. I'm going back to using this bad boy. Using Warmifier with AFChorus and Crysonic's Spectra'PE 32-bit limiter is a deadly combo, yo.
Peace,
E. Irizarry - future R&B artist...real talk, baby!

Voxengo Crunchessor
Crunchessor is a general-purpose track compressor in audio plug-in form. One of its main advantages is the ease of tuning, which at the same time instantly delivers an excellent sonic performance. Another remarkable feature of Crunchessor is its valve-type processing, which is applied in parallel to compression. This makes Crunchessor an ideal choice for musicians and producers who are fond of analog compression sound and its warmness.
Beside this, Crunchessor offers you a selection of compression coloration styles--by itself a pretty unique feature for a compressor. Choosing an appropriate coloration style, you can add the character most suitable for the program material you are working with. As an option, you can disable both coloration and valve warming processing to get a neutral and clean compression sound.
Being a general-purpose compressor, Crunchessor can be used for any kind of program material: drums, vocals, bass, guitars, synth sounds, etc. Crunchessor can be suitable both for single track and whole mix processing.

What's New
Version 1.8, 06-sep-2007
Access violation error on systems with >2GB memory solved.
Version 1.7.2, 13-jan-2007
Fixed CPU spikes occuring when changing Attack or Release settings.
Version 1.7, 18-oct-2005
- "U" attack mode implemented which offers steeper compressor attack stage, for more instant reaction.
- It is now possible to disable side-chaining completely in audio hosts which do not fully support VST 2.3 functionality (do not support 4 channels on input).
Version 1.6, 04-jul-2005
- Side-chaining reimplemented. Now it is possible to use a wide range of various side-chain channel combinations. Plug-in now automatically detects side-chain support in the host. However, if the plug-in was not able to detect side-chain support you may still enable it manually.
- Side-chain monitoring now passes side-chain signal processed by the Filter option (i.e. as it is actually passed to the compression stage).
- More filter options added.
- Attack range increased to 400 ms.
- Release range increased to 8000 ms.
Version 1.5, 26-feb-2005
- Side-chain mode (when in High quality mode) issue fixes.
- "Listen" side-chain switch implemented. It bypasses the main output and allows you to hear the side-chain signal.
- User's manual update which includes a tutorial on how to use side-chaining in Cubase SX and Nuendo.
- Now clip led automatically clears on In and Out gain changes.
Version 1.4, 06-jan-2005
- Lost gain reduction meters scale fixed.
- User's manual updated.
Version 1.3, 05-dec-2004
- Minor issues fixed.
- Output 'over 0dBFS' indicator added. It will turn red if three sequential potential clip incidents were detected on any of the output channels.
Version 1.2, 08-nov-2004
- Release range switch implemented. It allows you to switch between the default "High" (25 - 3000 ms) and "Low" range (1 - 25 ms).
- True side-chaining compression mode implemented. It requires four input audio channels to function properly.
- A new "Smooth" style added. This style can be useful when compressing vocals with harsh-sounding highs.
Version 1.1, 13-sep-2004
- 'Crisp' modes added. They also give a substantially different compression sound.
- 'Strength' parameter added. It allows you to get a little bit more crunchy sound, if necessary.
- Optimizations implemented which are engaged when both 'Clean' mode and 'Flat' style were enabled.
- "Auto" quality mode added. The Auto mode selects the Normal mode during real-time processing; during offline/bounce processing the High quality mode will be used.
Version 1.0, 09-aug-2004
Initial release.
Version 1.0a, 01-aug-2004
Initial alpha release.
