As an experiment I have been trying to make some guitar cabinet impulses of a cab sim I use. I compared the original sim's response with the impulse's response and noticed the highs above like 10khz and the lows below about 80hz are not reporduced quite accurately as seen here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/75652364/impulse.png. They appear to be boosted significantly. Why is this? Is there a way I can fix this? The low and high cut features in deconvolver don't seem like they would actually fix the problem, just minimize it a little. Is there a way to do it properly?

This happens probably because of cab's non-linearity. You have to run cab at minimal overdrive setting, at moderate volume. Standard linear deconvolution can't capture non-linearities well.
