Jon Burton (The Laundry Rooms)
I have been a Voxengo user for many years after looking for a software phase alignment tool to help with mixing recordings of live shows. I use the PHA-979 as my go to phase tool for several years and it has been great for aligning guitar mics to D.I. sources in numerous live recordings I have made. I use a Radial Phazer live so having a bit of software that achieves the same result easily is a boon.
I'm also a big fan of Old Skool Reverb which sits happily amongst my vast arsenal of hardware and software effects.
Sound engineer working at the highest level for various international artists. Primarily involved in live work, but with extensive studio, and broadcast experience.
"I started with an interest in sound whilst at school, buying sound equipment whilst working in a music shop. My first rental was to The Walker Brothers who rented a mixing desk I had just bought. This started my career in music.
My touring career began with the all-girl group the "Belle Stars". From there I worked extensively with local sound company Tiger Hire. During this period I had the good fortune to work with a vast array of artists. In the Jazz field I worked with BB King, The Count Basie Orchestra, Etta James, Lionel Hampton, Charlie Brown as well as people like Dr John and Tower of Power. I also had the chance to work from everything from the Wren Orchestra to Ray Mann’s Chinese Orchestra.
I worked with Tiger Hire on a freelance basis until I began to get more work on my own. My first major touring act being Katrina and the Waves."
