Harold LaRue (Harold LaRue Mastering)
I use Voxengo plugins in my daily work as a mastering engineer. SPAN is glued to my monitoring chain.
Harold LaRue is a mastering engineer and educator with over thirty years of audio production and technical training experience. He is the Owner and Chief Engineer of Harold LaRue Mastering, which relocated from Seattle, Washington to Louisville, Kentucky in 2018.
Recent clients include Macy Gray and Mack Avenue Records label-mate, R&B legend, Jeffrey Osborne, whose return to the Billboard charts was featured in Rolling Stone.
As an educator, Harold has designed and presented studio production, audio mastering, and technical troubleshooting curricula at several universities and music production schools, including Seattle Recording Arts, Academy of Contemporary Music at University of Central Oklahoma, Capital University, Groove U, and SAE Nashville.
His passion for both music and technology developed in the 1980’s, building and playing electronic drums and running a music production facility near Detroit, while studying for a computer science degree.
Harold’s experience extends beyond the studio and classroom to the stage with decades of sound design/mixing for live music, theater, and film productions. He has further combined these skills to design studios and live music venues in the US and abroad, notably Danilo’s Jazz Club (Casco Viejo, Panama) for Danilo Pérez (Wayne Shorter Quartet, Panama 500).
