using 8x oversample - when?

Should this be used on final mix.  My ears cannot hear the difference between this and 4x - but I don't want to short change my clients for some CPU cycles/

Rob

There's really no much need in 8x oversampling in most cases - it may only be useful if some severe overdrive/distortion is applied to the sound.  For 96kHz audio even 2x is usually enough.

Thanks Aleksey - thought my ears were going bad.

All the best,

Rob
