Forums     Plugins     r8brain PRO Feature Request - Folder selection

What would be a real timesaver for me would be the ability to just browse to a folder, and add the entire contents.

Currently I have a project where the assets are in a folder, and in a further 4 subfolders from the main one.

Right now, I cannot select the main folder and have R8Brain Pro add all the files in all the subfolders - it will not do this.

I have to SRC each subfolder in turn as it insists on being pointed to an Audio file.

Reason this would be helpful is because the assets are all for DVD, and in separate folders on a "per disc" basis.

Then I could point to the main folder, tell it to include all subfolders, and away I go.

Right now I'm working on adding this feature since I've got a request from another user for such feature.  I'll post an updated beta later today.

OK, I've just posted beta v1.2.5.  Please check it out.

Just did.

It is not doing what I expect it to.

If I browse to a folder nest where there is a main folder holding all the subfolders, it will not allow me to select the folder - it still insists on being pointed to a folder with Audio files in it.

For example:

My folder structure might be

MIX ONE -

Audio

Edits

Exports

The situation could be that all the Audio is contained in the 3 subfolders, and I would like to be able to browse just to the main folder, "MIX ONE", and tell R8Brain Pro to scan all the subfolders contained in the main folder.

Right now, I cannot do this unless there is an audio file in the root folder.

Does this make sense?

You may browse to any folder (even root one), but you do not have to select ANY file there (see the 'filename is not required' text on the filename line).  After selection all you need is to press the 'Scan folders' button.

It doesn't work!

When I browse to the root folder, the "Filename is not required" message duly appears, but will not allow selection - I have to enter the folder.

When I try to browse to root, I must go into an actual folder with Audio files in it, or the select screen will not close.

Thanks for the feedback on this - I'll try to get it working another way soon.
