Is there some sort of standard format for the IR files? I mean, is SIR compatable with PS, and does all the stuff from, e.g., Noisevault work? I'm curious because I rarely see things that are compatible like that, and everybody on the forums seems to know everything about this stuff already.

There is no 'standard' for IR files. IR files are usually stored as WAV files, and can be edited and manipulated in any sound editor. Pristine Space will load any IR file stored as WAV file.
Of course, I'm not talking about proprietary formats - but IRs in such formats are usually not superior or inferior to WAV files.
