I spent about five hours "mastering" a mix yesterday using parallel compression, EQ and E4 carefully listening while experimenting with the variables available in E4.
I should state that I had used E3 extensively in the past but recently switch to another product because I felt that EL-Uni (?) exhibited an amount of harshness (distortion?) in the mid - upper mid-range spectrum.
I use Elephant conservatively. The end result has dynamic range.
My initial listening to E4 (EL-4) (while adjusting the E4 parameters to suit the mix track) were that E4 is sonically a very positive step in the direction of clarity and transparency in the important midrange and top-end.
It was worth the wait and the price. Thank you gentlemen.
