Can't really hear the difference but the option is given for my Voxengo 'Elephant' plug.
Any recommendation for orchestral mock ups?
Thanks in advance.

Any opinions?

Indeed, it's hardly possible to hear difference. I would use Gauss.

Thanks Aleksey - what about 'shaping' - classic or equal?
Many thanks in advance.

A college of mine has even mentioned to 'turn off' shaping. Your thoughts Aleksey?

That depends on your taste and actual resolution of your recording. For example, I have drum recording which has real resolution of 17 bits over the whole spectrum. In this case it's quite beneficial to use "Equal" shaping when coverting to 16 bits. Otherwise noise-shaping is not necessary.

Good point Aleksey - I do Orchestral mock-ups and the 'sample libraries' are all 24 bit. I deliver final mixes in 16 bit.
Should I then NOT use shaping?

No, I think you should use noise-shaping for better sound clarity. But then again - listen, if it sounds OK, use it.

I personally like both. :-)
