Forums     Plugins     Deft Compressor Deft not retaining settings

I'm particularly fond of using Deft as a de-esser, but recently, when using it with Pyramix version 8.1.11, I've found that the side chain settings - the EQ in particular - are not saved when I save the project.  Every time I re-start Pyramix, I have to re-load my saved pre-set in order to get my settings back.

This issue does not affect what is set on the "Main" page, but only with the "Edit" page, which in the case of Deft, is where you EQ the side-chain (rather crucial for de-essing).  It's hard to determine whether this issue is with Pyramix or Voxengo, so I'm letting both parties know.

I think this is Pyramix's issue as I'm sure Deft saves all settings if called by the host correctly.

Yes, I'm afraid this is one of those annoying situations where the very act of reporting an error means that it can no longer be reproduced.

I applied Deft in an Izotope RX session, quit and restarted, and all the settings were retained, even the side-chain EQ.  I then went back to Pyramix and, lo and behold, now Deft behaves as it should.

It's like the naughty child who hears Dad coming - "I wasn't doing anything..."
