Hallo,

Danke!

Hey Apollos!

I think this is supposed to be an English-speaking forum.  So here goes:

"I am a proud owner of CurveEQ, Elephant and Soniformer.  After I installed them and selected them as insert effects in the Cubase mixer, an extremely high output latency occurred (12ms input latency, normal; 110 ms output latency).  What is the problem?  I use Cubase SX 2.01 with a Hammerfall DSP-System (Multiface) on a PIV 3.4 GHz.  Thanks!"

I hope I got that right Apollos.  I'll let Aleksey handle the answer.

John

It is a normal behaviour for real-time performance.  Both CurveEQ and Elephant have some static latency making these plug-ins hardly usable for real-time (tracking) applications (they are usable only for offline mixing and mastering).  Soniformer should work in any situation with zero latency.

Thanks John for your assistance.

Hi Aleksey,

thanx for your fast answer but I'd like to know what you mean with offline mixing and mastering.  Up till now I have worked with Cubase using only virtual instruments and effects.  I produced my arrangements and when they were finished I used the mixer to add insert effects to the sum.

So what do I have to do to use your plugs on my arrangements - especially on the sum - with zero latency?

Now I do not really understand what is *really* wrong with the output latency.  The internal latency of the plug-ins makes them impossible to use on live input processing (e.g. guitar), but they should work fine for mixing.

Do you get something like desynchronization or something when using CurveEQ or Elephant?  Please also check Soniformer since it has no processing latency.
