Hello, everytime you using a Spectrumatch Curve on a Sound (for example sounds with hard attack like Bassdrums, Snares) you have a Pre-Echo shortly before them, like they fading in a bit before the real attack comes in.  Try it and tell me if its Fixable plz, its sounds all very washed because that :((

cheers.

Please, send me your preset .fxp file to picoder@mail.ru

I'll check it out

Hello Aleksev, i have no special .FXP file for that, just analyse for example to Hihat tracks (with HIGH attack) then match them and see the pre-echos, it happens all the time, regardless what sounds.

Actually, that issue isn't directly related to SpectruMatch.  CurveEQ is linear-phase plug-in, so it introduces pre-echo in any case.  However, if you have GearMatch disabled, this pre-echo must have no odd effect on any tracks.  The only odd thing is that you SEE pre-echo, but don't hear it.  Washing you are talking about can be of a different nature and unrelated to pre-echo.  For example, curve you are getting maybe just EQing some elements that contribute to sharpness of sound attack.

If you want additional expertise, for example Waves LinEQ also has the same pre-echoing.

hmm, well on some frequencies i boost it gets REALY hearable and makes all sound like a "reverse reverb". isnt there a way around this issue? i think i have to go back to the normal EQ´s otherwise, its realy not acceptable in some cases and makes real "kicking" sounds very washed :( i mean i would rather go for a non linear EQ then for not having this pre-echo :/

ah, about you mentioned i only see it, its realy hearable not only seeing it. i wonder if a mastercoder like you could stop that pre-echos and make it better then Waves ;)

Guest, anyways, could you send me a short clip from track that shows pre-echoing along with preset you are using?  I just need something to start from, because actually your comment is the first of the kind.  Nobody so far said linear-phase washes out attacks.

ok, i drop you a mail

hi Aleksey, i am afraid i did send the email to the wrong addy, i used info@voxengo.com, but now i see you mentioned an .ru adress above. just to make sure you know where it landed ;)

No problems, I received it.  I just thinking what can I do.  Actually, I think there are no problems.  But anyways, that would be great to have a switch that disables linearity.  So, now I'm looking for a way to do this.

Thanks,

Aleksey.
