Crash in Cubase5 (PC) while in sidechain mode

I set crunchessor to the stereo-sidechain using a routing preset.
The plug-in is inserted into a LRCS group and is working fine in sidechain mode.

While playing around with the routing options I switched to group 4.
This causes an immediate crash in cubase.

I am running crunchessor 2.7 32bit in Cubase 5.5 32bit on Win7 64bit.
Bug?
