ducking using cubase sl/studio

This topic was created before release of the latest product version, and it may contain details irrelevant to this version.  Replying is disabled for this topic.

Is there anyway of creating the ducking effect with the bass and kick using cubase studio 4?  The method given in the notes on this requires the use of child busses which is a feature of Cubase SX/4 only.

Any suggestionds would be appreciated!

I'm not sure how to do it (I'm not an expert in Cubase 4).  I suggest you to ask this question on Cubase forums.

I'm afraid there's no way to sidechain in SL or Cubase Studio 4.  To perform sidechain in Cubase, you need Quattro group tracks which are only available in SX and Cubase 4.

There has been word of native sidechain coming soon but I'm not sure if this will be included in Cubase Studio 4 which is one of the reason's I haven't upgraded yet.

Hope this helps

Cheers
