Recorder is an utility PC VST plug-in which allows you to record the output of the track or bus into the stereo WAV file of specified bit depth.  Routing to MME (multimedia extensions) soundcard is also supported.

good job. already using

I'm glad to hear!

I found a very useful application for this today.  Many thanks for continuing to release free plugins alongside your commercial line!

You are welcome!

Is there any reason NOT to use "Recorder" on the output buss of my host to achieve a 16bit, 44.1k stereo wav file for burning to CD instead of rendering from 24/32bit down to 16bit, 44.1k?

For sound quality, is inserting noise in the file through the dithering/noise shaping process the better alternative, or in your opinion is recording the output using "Voxengo Recorder" to a 16bit, 44.1k file better?

Thank You,
chimmy

chimmy, host's rendering is usually faster than using Recorder in real-time.  Of course, you may use Recorder to get a WAV file for CD burning.  However, Recorder does not offer noise-shaping.  But that does not make its bitdepth conversion worse.

Any chances of getting recorder x64?  Thanks in advance

I can't guarantee this will happen anywhere soon.  I have plans to make a new version of Recorder with x64 and Mac OS X support, but that won't happen anywhere soon.  Soundcard output won't be available in that version, though.

This is GREAT!  I look forward to x64 version of this plugin!
