ok, I just tracked down a problem i was having with a really weird bounce out of cubase.
I am parallel processing drums with Deft compressor. The session sounded like I intended, but when i listened to the bounce it was all phasey. I found it was due to oversampling in Voxengo plugins. Crunchessor works the same way. I had the Deft compressor in "Auto" oversampling mode. It appears that voxengo plugins do not do delay compensation for oversampling. This means for me at least, Auto mode is really dangerous because of the drastic sound change in multi-channel instruments or parallel processing.
Crunchessor's dry knob works perfectly inside the plugin, but Crunchessor has the same issue when parrallel processing a drum bus using a separate bus in Cubase
Has anyone experienced this, or confirm that I am correct in my discovery?
thanks,
Darrell

This is an expected problem, because oversampling applies phase shift. Of course, this makes parallel processing unusable. This problem was mentioned in Q&A section of the "Primary User Guide" already.
Please use the Dry mix inside the plug-in. Deft Compressor has no dry mix, because it features a precise ratio control which makes Dry mix control redundant.

ok thanks for answer, I searched the forum, but forgot to look in the PUG, i just assumed oversampling could be compensated for. I am guessing the same applies for any multi-tracked instrument, that oversampling should be avoided. which leads me to another question,
I mix at 44.1 because of processing power limitations. would it be better for me to switch to 88.2khz for mixing. or would i hear the same phase issues even on 1x at 88.2khz
thanks,
Darrell

Switching to 88.2kHz will solve your problem - 1x (no oversampling) does not induce any phase shift at any sample rate.

great thanks! Just Read thru the PUG. It is a great resource. thanks for all the hard work you put into it! Everything makes sense now! and thanks for all the great plugins!
