Voxengo is pleased to announce the release of HarmoniEQ version 2.0, a parametric, harmonically-enhanced equalizer plug-in for professional music production applications, available in AudioUnit and VST plugin formats, for Mac OS X (v.10.4.11 and later) and Windows (32-bit and 64-bit) computers.

Harmonic enhancement HarmoniEQ applies to the sound is an inherent element of its overall sonic quality.  HarmoniEQ also features dynamic equalization modes that offer you a vast palette of sound-shaping capabilities, suitable for mastering.

Since the easiness of tuning was one of our goals when producing this plug-in, HarmoniEQ features a single control surface to control the equalizer curve.  HarmoniEQ's control surface workflow implements our best findings in the area of “user-equalizer” interaction.  Just drag the filter control points to the right places.  You can enable up to 7 filter bands, with the filter type freely-selectable from peaking, low-shelf, high-shelf, low-pass, high-pass and notch filter types.

Another useful element of HarmoniEQ is its control surface's frequency range which goes up to 38 kHz.  Such extended range allows you to make smooth “air” boosts easily.  While HarmoniEQ is best suited for EQ boosts, its EQ cuts also sound great.

The following features were added to HarmoniEQ since version 1:

  • Better overall dynamic behavior
  • Low-pass, high-pass and notch filters
  • Real-time spectrum display with zooming
  • Input signal level control
  • Multi-channel support
  • Multi-platform support
  • Mid/side processing
  • Undo/redo
  • Channel routing matrix
  • Preset manager
  • User interface coloration
  • User interface re-scaling
  • Channel grouping
  • Plug-in instance naming

Introductory price of USD 79.95 will be effective between July 17th, 2010, and August 17th, 2010, which is 20% off the regular price of USD 99.95.  Upgrading from the previous version costs USD 49.95 if the previous version was purchased earlier than 90 days from now: otherwise the upgrade is free during this grace period.

With the release of HarmoniEQ 2.0 we have discontinued sales of Lampthruster plug-in.  You may cross-grade your available Lampthruster license to HarmoniEQ 2.0 license for USD 49.95.

Demo version of HarmoniEQ can be downloaded freely at the Voxengo web site: http://www.voxengo.com/product/harmonieq/

This is a great update !
It already was our go to mastering EQ, but now...

BUT: where is the linear phase mode ?

HarmoniEQ now always uses linear-phase oversampling.  Its filters were never linear-phase.

What are the main differences between HarmoniEQ and GlissEQ?  For instance, what the difference between the HarmoniEQ "Harmonically-enhanced equalizer" and the GlissEQ "Harmonically-enhanced filter type"?

Is the principal difference the fact that HarmoniEQ is linear-phase (with the 11 ms "linear-phase penalty") (oh...and filters with more range)?

The main difference between HarmoniEQ and GlissEQ is in the "Dynamics" - they behave completely different.  Harmonical enhancement's subjective qualities are also different, beside that HarmoniEQ has selectable "strength" of harmonic coloration.

HarmoniEQ uses linear-phase oversampling filter while GlissEQ uses minimum-phase oversampling filter.

Also, it doesn't seem like HarmoniEQ is as feature-rich as GlissEQ.  GlissEQ has many different filter settings and slopes.  HarmoniEQ seems to just be a peaking filter with adjustable Q and it appears only one shelf band.  Is that correct?

No, HarmoniEQ features peaking, low-pass, high-pass, notch, high-shelf and low-shelf filters - it's a pretty much complete set.

Oh, I didn't catch the right click part. :)

What's the "Oct" number refer to?  It looks like it's analogous to the filter Q, but the number doesn't seem to correspond to traditional Q values.  Like, maximal flat seems to be around 1.9.

Anyway, your suite of plugins is really becoming more and more impressive.  Great job!  I may have to take the plunge on this one.

Oct = filter's "bandwidth" in octaves.

Aleksey, regarding Lampthruster crossgrade and HarmoniEQ v1 upgrade prices of $49.95 -- is that price only through Aug 17th, or does it extend beyond the introductory period?  Thanks!
