Hi mister Aleksey,
Hope everything is fine on vacation.
I have one question and cannot find answer anywhere on the net.
Host Application-Nuendo 3
Sampler -Kontakt 2
Project settings-48Khz,32bit float
Source sample -44,1Khz,16bit
In this situation is resampling done by Nuendo or by Kontakt. What is the best way if SR of source sample do not match project settings?
Thank You,
Best Regards
sorry my English is bad

I believe resampling will be done by Nuendo since plug-ins are usually working on project sample rate. It's better to always keep project and sound sample rates equal. You can use sample rate conversion for that.

If I understand, when sound sample of 44.1Khz and 32 bit load in to Vst plugin sampler /Kontakt for example/it play it on the original resolution and then host app do oversampling to 48 khz,32 bit float if this is the project settings. This is very bad news, because everybody know that, for example,Nuendo have very low quality resampler.
One more question please. Here we talk about resampling, but what about bit depth in this situation? Are we in big trouble?
And sorry because topic is not about your really great plugins, but as I said before, nobody nowhere explain what is really go on with our samples going thru these processes.
Thank You Aleksey,
I must start converting all my samples.

When you load sample into a plug-in (sampler), it is plug-in's responsibility to resample to project sample rate. But if you load sample into track in the host, it is host that does resampling before the audio is fed into plug-in.
Bit-depth differences usually do not cause any problems since all VST plug-ins work in 32-bit floating point resolution, so usually any bit-depth is processed as 32-bit FP resolution in the end.
